Thai massage is worked on a mat with you fully clothed in loose cotton wear we provide. Instead of oil and gliding strokes, your therapist uses palms, thumbs, forearms and feet to apply pressure along the body’s energy lines, then guides you through assisted yoga-style stretches. Think of it as someone doing the stretching for you, at a pace your body agrees to.
It suits stiff hips and shoulders, long hours at a screen, and anyone who finds oil massages too passive. Pressure is set by you, and you can ask for more or less at any point in the session.
If you would rather have oil and deeper, more focused pressure, our deep tissue massage is the better fit. For a full cleanse and scrub, look at the Turkish hammam ritual.
